I have taken my brave pill and decided to rename this Tuesday ‘Draw Night’ in the Championship. Tuesday’s are traditional betting mine fields in the Championship so it is not unreasonable to expect the unexpected.
The first game I will look at is Leicester vs Norwich. Leicester have been very indifferent in recent weeks after a good run of form pushed them towards the playoffs. Of late they have been beaten twice; by high flying pair of Cardiff City and QPR, sandwiched in-between was a poor home draw to Coventry. Norwich should have won at the weekend but they have drawn 3 of their last 4 games and I can see these 2 sides sharing the spoils. The draw is priced at 5/2.
The second to look at is Doncaster vs Coventry. Doncaster shipped 5 against Leeds on Saturday but they have been a lot less leaky at home. Coventry don’t score many on the road, averaging less than 1 goal a game on their travels, but they are also quite tight at the back. Doncaster are hardly rattling them in themselves at home and for that matter I can see this being a low scoring (if any) draw, available at 5/2.
The third game is Leeds vs Preston. Leeds have drawn 4 of their last 5 games played on a Tuesday night, losing the other one. They simply don’t do Tuesdays! Tonight they face rock bottom Preston who got an encouraging draw at Norwich at the weekend. I will go for that result to be repeated tonight and back the draw at 5/2.
Swansea host Watford after their defeat away at Scunthorpe on Saturday. It is worth noting Watford have scored the most away goals in the league this season, but Swansea have the tightest home defence, conceding just 6 all season. They don’t score many though, just 25 at home and for that reason I will again go for the draw at 29/10.
The final game is Hull vs Burnley. With both teams just outside the playoffs, and a Hull team that are hardly thrilling at home with just 14 goals, I can see this one being very tight and cagey. Burnley have drawn a lot on their travels this season and with Hull’s tight, but goal shy home record, I can see this being another 1. The draw is 23/10.
I would recommend betting in combinations again with these selections, or adding in and taking out your own picks as you choose, draws are a great way to boost prices of accumulators or combination bets but of course, the risk increases.
Backing these in a 5-fold pays the small odds of 560/1! I will be backing these 5 selections in 10 trebles, if just one of these trebles wins the payout will be at least 40/1.
Like I said, my pointers are only recommendations and I would say use what you want from my selections and add in your own.
Good Luck
