Spurs vs Milan Preview

If last night’s game at the Nou Camp is anything to go by, this one is going to be eventful. Tottenham take a crucial away goal back to The Lane and that means Milan’s front men will have to find the net. There is no doubting the talent of Robinho, Pato and Ibrahimovic but behind them 3, the aging Milan players could struggle against Tottenham’s pace and desire to score goals themselves. One thing is for sure, Harry Redknapp won’t be sitting back on their lead too much.
A lot depends on the teams on display here; injury doubts hang over Bale and Van der Vaart and with the Milan full-backs decidedly weak, the inclusion of Bale could be the difference. If Harry can go with Bale, Van der Vaart and the terrifying pace of Lennon against an aging Milan back line, I would be willing to put my neck out and say Spurs will go through comfortably. Crouch’s height will once again terrorise Yepes and their keeper. In the first leg they simply didn’t know how to defend against the robot! It is not unfair to say Spurs are good, where Milan are weak.
Milan beat Juventus away last time out and earlier in the season they were held at Ajax and beaten in Madrid by Mourinho’s Real. Last season a very different Milan side went to Old Trafford and got trounced 4-0 but that team was totally different to this one who find themselves 5 points clear at the top of Serie A.
Although I can’t see how Milan can be as bad as the first leg, I still think Spurs will hold on and go through. They are very skinny at 2/7 to qualify, that price won’t hang around if Milan get an early goal. Milan are 11/4 to go through. Spurs are 5/4 to win on the night, Milan 11/5 and the draw 5/2. The key to this game could be the first goal. Spurs will use their pace to hit Milan on the break and I like the 2-2 draw available at 14/1.
My main bet for this evening though is going to be over 2.5 goals at evens.
